Growing up as an Indigenous adoptee, I spent so much of my younger life internalizing images of maidens fair, waifish figures in repose, and damsels in distress. From the halls of museums, the pages of magazines, to prime time t.v., I grew up with an undifferentiated definition of what beauty was. I did not see myself, my friends, or my racially blended family represented.
As a female artist of color I seek to give a more accurate representation of women of color in art. Influenced by the strong collection of women in my life I aim to create work that showcases the diverse power and beauty of women.
Working out of my home studio in South Minneapolis I create unique resin jewelry, 3D printed bookmarks, paintings and digital artworks. My work has been featured in galleries across the country as a part of the Amplifier Foundations Hear Our Voice National Gallery Tour, in local shows and at the Four Sisters Farmers Market on summer breaks.
