Activism

I have been a community organizer with the Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee (MIRAC) since early 2017. Utilizing my skills as an artist  I have organized art builds, helped design and paint banners and designed MIRAC merchandise. With MIRAC I enjoy collaborating with my community and providing necessary services for people in need, including: organizing DACA renewal clinics, being present for court support and most recently, providing food gift cards for immigrant families during the Covid-19 pandemic. 

In 2019, as a part of a MIRAC delegation to the border of Arizona and Mexico, I had the gut wrenching opportunity to see the U.S.A. immigration system in one of its most deadly areas: Tucson, Arizona. The system I bore witness to made me think of my country in a new way and solidified my dedication to fight for justice for immigrant people.
